A 14-year-old girl had a miraculous escape on SV Road in Vile Parle West when an earthmover demolishing illegal roadside shops hit a streetlight, causing its glass case to crash on her. The operator of the earthmover, hired by the BMC, has been booked for causing hurt. The girl sustained head injuries and received nine stitches. She was taken to Cooper Hospital, where she was discharged after X-ray and sonography tests.
