Goods train derails near Kasara, hits 24 long-distance services

24 long-distance trains were hit after the derailment of two wagons in the Kasara ghat section. 21 trains were diverted and 3 trains were stuck near the affected site. Passengers were stranded in the trains. The suburban local train traffic was unaffected. The restoration work was on a war footing and the track was expected to be cleared by early Monday morning. Some trains were diverted via different routes and additional halts were provided for these trains.
