The retail rate of eggs during the winter season has risen to an astronomical Rs 90 per dozen in certain localities. The prices increased by Rs 6-10 per dozen on Monday, reaching Rs 90 in Andheri Lokhandwala, Jogeshwari West, and Shivaji Park. Bandra, Malad, and Nerul continued to sell for Rs 80. Multiple reasons, including a shortage caused by the diversion of eggs from Hyderabad to North India due to increased demand, have contributed to this seasonal increase in prices.
