
The Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT) declined a plea by three government job aspirants to reserve seats for transgenders in government jobs. However, the MAT instructed a lower benchmark for transgender candidates and directed the granting of necessary grace marks to make the cut-off. The state was also told to grant age relaxation for applicants who have secured up to 45% marks. The MAT emphasized the need for effective participation and inclusion of transgenders in society.
