
BMC inspected 3,269 shops in Mumbai and took action against 176 establishments for not complying with the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act. The N ward had 18 establishments and the S ward had 14 establishments that received notices. The action was taken in response to a Supreme Court order that required establishments to display signboards in Marathi. The Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association stated that they will follow the law.
