Swedish national held in Mumbai for molesting crew member on flight

A Swedish national was arrested on Thursday for allegedly molesting a cabin crew member in an inebriated state, the latest case of unruly behaviour on an aircraft. The incident took place on board a four-hour-long Indigo flight (6E-1052) from Bangkok to Mumbai. On arrival at the Mumbai International Airport around 6.30pm, the accused, Klas Erik Harald Jonas Westberg (63), was detained by security personnel.

SIT found 'suicide note' in IIT-Bombay student's hostel room

More than a month after Darshan Solanki, an 18-year-old IIT Bombay student, died by suicide and the probe was transferred to Mumbai crime branch's special investigation team (SIT) over allegations of caste-based discrimination he faced, it has come to light that on March 3 the SIT had stumbled upon a "suicide note" in his hostel room in which he had reportedly named a roommate for pushing him to take the extreme step. At the time of going to press on Monday, an FIR for abetment to suicide was being registered against Solanki's roommate.

Commuter throws burning cloth on disabled passenger in Thane

A 35-year-old Divyang commuter from Diva suffered severe burn injuries after a fellow passenger, suspected to be under influence of some narcotic substance, allegedly threw a burning cloth on him aboard a running local train, the railway police informed on Sunday.
