Mumbai police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has sought permission to investigate companies linked to leader of opposition Ajit Pawar and his MLA nephew Rohit Pawar in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam, saying the companies had acquired sick sugar mills via auctions through suspicious transactions. The development comes two years after the agency filed a closure report stating that no fraud had been committed during the auctions.
