Mumbaikars will have to brace for heavy traffic on Monday as the city will witness multiple road restrictions amid two events scheduled for the day. Covid-19 cases drop 60% in Mumbai & Maharashtra; dip likely due to fewer tests

The daily Covid caseload in Mumbai and Maharashtra dropped by nearly 60% on Monday compared to the previous day. The state registered 226 cases, including 59 from Mumbai, compared to 545 (141 in Mumbai) on Sunday. A state official said the low tally on Monday was due to fewer tests conducted on Sunday. As against the average of 18,000 to 20,000 tests daily on weekdays, only 9,154 tests were conducted on Sunday.
